In 2009/2010 a full-length documentary about Josef
Ganz and his influence on the Volkswagen Beetle will be produced aimed at an
international audience. The documentary will be based on the research and book
by Dutch journalist Paul Schilperoord. His book will first be published in the
Dutch language in September 2009 under the title Het
Ware Verhaal van de Kever: hoe Hitler het ontwerp van een Joods genie
confisqueerde.

Footage
wanted!
For use in the documentary
we are looking for original film footage of Josef Ganz as
well as his prototypes Ardie-Ganz (1930) and Adler Maikäfer
(1931), the Standard Superior (1933), the Bungartz Butz
(1934), the BMW AM1 (1932), the Mercedes-Benz models 170
(1931), 120H (1931) and 130H (1933/34), and the 'Swiss
Volkswagen' for Rapid (1937-1947). Furthermore, period
footage is required from the Berlin motor shows in 1933
and 1934, 1920s/30s German traffic and
several German cities including Darmstadt and Frankfurt am
Main. If you have any material that you think would be of
